This design is inspired by the wonders of algae and other organisms that use sunlight as a source of energy and produce oxygen in doing so. Dinoflagellates are the most common type of bioluminescent algae that grow on the surface of the ocean. Noctiluca scintillans, also known as sea sparkle, is one such bioluminescent dinoflagellate.
